Study Suggests Focused Ultrasound Treatment of Aortic Valve Stenosis Safe, Stroke-Free

Investigators have published initial safety data from a first-in-human study to treat calcific aortic stenosis.
Cardiawave’s Valvosoft® device uses focused ultrasound to nonthermally soften a calcified aortic valve.
Post-procedure MRIs revealed no acute ischemic changes, major adverse events, or signs of stroke.

Apply Now: Andrew J. Lockhart Postdoctoral Fellowship in Focused Ultrasound and Immuno-Oncology

This one-year fellowship will pair an early-career scientist with a leading laboratory to foster focused ultrasound immuno-oncology research.
The recipient will receive a $75,000 stipend, and applications are due September 15.
The fellowship was established in 2021 through the generosity of the Lockhart family in memory of their son.

Three focused ultrasound abstracts addressed breast cancer, prostate cancer, and liver perfusion.

The Foundation partners with G2G Consulting to provide monthly reports on government bioscience grants – the GBG Report.
This effort is part of an ongoing partnership to drive impact for the focused ultrasound community through advocacy.
