Chrit Moonen, PhD, Joins Foundation as Scientific Programs Director

A leader in focused ultrasound research for nearly 30 years, Prof. Moonen previously led the Division of Imaging at University Medical Center in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
In his new role, he will be responsible for managing the Foundation’s internal projects and external research funding process.

Bracco and SonoThera Partner to Advance Gene Therapies

Bracco Imaging has agreed to provide its microbubble technology to SonoThera for use in developing its ultrasound-guided nonviral gene therapy platform.
Combining ultrasound energy and microbubbles allows transient permeability of vessel walls and cell membranes that can enable the delivery of therapeutics.

In Memoriam: Rao Gullapalli, PhD, MBA

We are saddened to share that Rao Gullapalli, PhD, MBA, passed away on April 18.
He was a professor of diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Dr. Gullapalli worked closely with our technical team and advanced focused ultrasound for chronic pain, epilepsy, and more.
